Around the globe, the collapse of the tourist economy has bankrupted hotels, restaurants, bus operators, and car rental agencies — not to mention it has thrown over 100 million people out of work. The global economy depends on non-stop travel. The economic devastation means far fewer people can afford to travel.

Concentrated research on the travel industry set forth my journey to enter a very niche place in the market. My first goal was to understand user expectations for travel during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
My analysis revealed that before the virus, business travelers accounted for half of the United States airlines revenue. Eighty-five percent of respondents in the Global Business Travel Association study (done this September) said they have canceled most or all business trips this year. In short, regardless of the trying times, the leisure traveler is highly valued today. This was my chance to come up with an idea that could truly impact the way travel works in the future. It is no secret that the Pandemic is shaping the way we live, it is time to start reinventing what it means to be a traveler.

Despite the collapse of our economy, a vital subject to approach during the Pandemic is Travel because the truth is that people will keep traveling. We are curious creatures, that is human nature and the state of the economy must adapt to it. This means implementing creative strategies to keep the business of travel and tourism alive. Through the process of discovery, ideation, design and validation I approached this problem through an imaginative and innovative strategy that socially and fiscally improves the lives of others using a system that supports struggling airlines looking to gain profit and reap financial reward and to entice curious creatures of habit with increasingly diminished attention spans. My solution: Jetsetter Co.
The company sells the ‘Jetsetter Pass’ which essentially lives digitally through the Jetsetter App. The pass allows people to travel at discounted rates through purchasing a package deal of 5 tickets. An avid opportunity for both travelers and airlines. In purchasing the Jetsetter Pass and downloading the Jetsetter App, you are given tools to connect with people to exclusively share travel experiences and information that will better support the constant restrictions and regulations travelers face when planning a trip. A number of features that allow you to take care of all your travel needs in one area and the Jetsetter Journey which allows you to track/document your travels over a period of time, provides an immediate benefit while minimizing development costs and utilizing data to add user value over time. The Jetsetter mobile app is a product exemplifying the potential for massive growth during the reconstruction of the travel industry. The CompetItive Analysis Report I conducted in collaboration with an employee from EY (one of the big four accounting firms) exhibited an income statement demonstrating how Jetsetter Co. is profitable, while also improving the lives of others through an exclusive user experience strategy. A solution that nourishes a brighter future for everyone.
Jetsetter Co. carefully curates a symbiotic relationship in which both the Airlines and its customers are helping each other out. It builds community, trust and is one of the many ways we are reshaping the way we live. Jetsetter improves a relationship that the world relies on, and provides confidence and certainty for the future — something we could all use a little more of.
